His Daughter Begged in Fear… And That Night Changed Everything

Alexander Reyes had the world at his feet—or at least, that’s what the business magazines stacked in the waiting room of his luxurious Madrid office claimed. At 45, he had built an empire. His name meant success, power, and unimaginable wealth.

Yet as he stared at the city lights reflecting through the glass walls of his office, Alexander felt like the poorest man alive.

Since the death of Sofia—his first wife and the only woman he had ever truly loved—he had buried himself in work. The pain had been unbearable, so he escaped it the only way he knew how: million-dollar deals, constant travel, and leaving the care of his children—little Isabella and baby Lucas—in the hands of his second wife, Camila.

To the world, Camila was perfect—elegant, articulate, devoted.

That’s what Alexander told himself every time guilt crept into his chest.

“They’re fine,” he would whisper. “She takes care of them.”

But that night… something changed.

It wasn’t a phone call.

Not a message.

Just a cold, suffocating feeling in his chest.

A warning.

He glanced at the framed photo on his desk—Sofia smiling warmly, holding newborn Isabella. Her eyes seemed to speak to him… urging him.

Calling him home.

“Cancel all my meetings tomorrow,” Alexander told his secretary abruptly.

“But sir, you have breakfast with the Japanese investors—”

“I said cancel everything. I’m going home.”

He drove himself.

Rain poured over Madrid as his black Mercedes cut through the highway toward his estate in Salamanca. Every mile tightened the knot in his chest.

He imagined Isabella running into his arms.

Baby Lucas reaching for him.

That hope was the only thing keeping him steady.

When he arrived, something felt wrong.

The mansion was dark.

Silent.

Too silent.

No laughter. No warmth. No life.

Only a faint light from the living room.

And then… he heard it.

Not a scream.

Worse.

A muffled sob.

Someone crying… trying desperately not to be heard.

And then a trembling little voice pierced the silence:

“Please… don’t hurt us anymore… I promise we won’t do it again…”

Alexander froze.

That was his daughter.

What he saw next shattered him.

On the floor—dirty, trembling—was Isabella.

Her pink dress torn. Her hair tangled. Her knees scraped.

She was curled around her baby brother, shielding him with her tiny body.

Lucas cried weakly in her arms.

Standing over them… was Camila.

Perfect makeup. Red dress. A glass of wine in her hand.

But her face—cold. Cruel. Unrecognizable.

“Be quiet!” she snapped. “I told you not to bother me while I rest! If that brat doesn’t stop crying, I’ll throw you both outside in the rain!”

“He’s hungry…” Isabella whispered, shaking. “Please… he’s just hungry…”

“Don’t call me mother!” Camila shouted, stepping forward.

“ENOUGH!”

Alexander’s voice thundered through the room.

Everything changed in that moment.

The truth.

The betrayal.

The monster behind the mask.
